It has been such a nice day today we gathered our painting tools and headed off to my Mum & Dads for a spot of shed painting. First of all we called at the glass place for some new greenhouse glass, the kids over the backs are always throwing golf balls and breaking the glass in Dads greenhouse. There are 2 big greenhouses in Dads garden and they are full to bursting with tomato plants flowers and mums herbs, they grow so many there are always plenty left over for us :-)
We had to break off halfway as the paint had gone off in the second part tin, I think the frost had seperated it so that meant a trip to B&Q on the way home. We needed compost for our greenhouse and as its wednesday and old farts discount day we bought a few things- 2 bags Compost, a large tin Cuprinol and some roofing felt for our sons shed. I hope its nice tomorrow so we can crack on and get it all done. There is the shed the garage back door, over the top of the front garage door and the tall garden gate which hubby fixed today
After a late lunch of a quick cheese sandwich and the remains of this weeks salad I got stuck in and potted the tomato plants into the big pots. This years are F1s Shirleys and there will be some tumbling ones to follow, I sowed some seeds too Lettuce, Courgettes and English Marigolds and I will set a few more tomorrow.
We dont grow much but there is nothing more satisfying than a stroll down the garden on a warm summers evening and picking something you have grown yourself.
